Broken Open

TO BE ABLE TO TELL YOUR STORY OF WHAT YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH AND HOW GOD BROUGHT YOU THROUGH IT IS NOT ONLY FREEING AND EMPOWERING, IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY IN TODAY'S WORLD OF PERCEIVED PERFECTION IN HIGHLIGHT REELS AND LIFE BEHIND A SCREEN.

I hope you read the following story as a conversation between two people who are looking for something BIGGER than themselves. I want you to hear the authenticity and vulnerability and TRUTH so loud and clear that you belt out after each paragraph, "OMG, ME TOO!" Filled with honesty, grace, humility, and compassion, you may find we have a lot more in common than you realize. Believe it or not, we're ALL in this together. If I know nothing else, I know that for SURE. We need one another, now more than ever!

However, please note - my PURPOSE in life is not talking about my hardships, obstacles, and blessings, its about LIVING it. Getting out from behind the words and living life with my whole heart with those who need unconditional love, renewed hope, restored joy, and deep connection - just as I did and still do. I have a heart for PEOPLE and yearn for connection MORE than I did when I was at my darkest and loneliest place. I have an insatiable desire to fill others up!

Everything that I am today is because of everything that was not in my life. When the answer to my prayers were "Not yet," "Wait," "It's not time yet," "Sit here a while longer," "Be still." That's when my biggest breakthroughs, growth, and maturity happened. When my faith was tested to the highest degree. I believe obstacles are an invitation to discipline. We're here for such a short time, let's make it matter!

"When we deny our stories and disengage from tough emotions, they don't go away; instead, they own us, they define us. Our job is NOT to deny the story, but to defy the ending - to rise strong, recognize our story, and rumble with the truth until we get to a place where we think, YES. This is what happened. This is my TRUTH and I will choose how the story ends."
-Brene Brown, "Rising Strong"
